Hatters Fall to ETSU in A-Sun Quarterfinals

Macon, Ga. - Top-seeded ETSU (21-8, 18-2 Atlantic Sun) ended Stetson's women's basketball season Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Hatters 84-49 in the quarterfinals of the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Conference Championships at Mercer's University Center.  Junior center Natasha Graboski (Upper Sandusky, Ohio) recorded her second double-double in the last three games with 14 points and 12 rebounds for Stetson (6-24, 6-14 A-Sun).

Graboski also had two assists, a block and a steal in 36 minutes, shooting 60 percent from the floor (6-10).  Senior forward Ashli Jackson (Opelika, Ala.) tied for the team scoring high with 14 points in her final career game; she made two three-pointers and ends her Stetson career third in program history with 98 made three-pointers.  Freshman guard/forward Simone Taylor (Delray Beach, Fla.) contributed six points and six rebounds.

Back-to-back A-Sun Player of the Year Siarre Evans led five Lady Bucs in double figures with 19 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists.  First Team All-Conference honoree TaRonda Wiles (12 points), Tara Davis (11 points), Natalie Pickwell (11 points) and Tarita Gordon (10 points, six assists, four rebounds) also reached double digits for ETSU.  The Lady Bucs have won the last two A-Sun Championships and move on to face either fourth-seeded Belmont or fifth-seeded Kennesaw State in the semifinals at noon Friday.

The Hatters are slated to return four starters and 12 of the 13 players on this year's roster in 2010-11, unveiling redshirt junior guard Mairead McNally (Belfast, N. Ireland) and sophomore guard Victoria McGowan (Inkster, Mich.), who sat out this season due to injury and transfer, respectively.  Only Jackson will be lost to graduation.  The incoming freshman class thus far features forwards Domonique Miller (Duluth, Ga.) and Sasha Sims (Fayetteville, Ga.)
