DeLand, Fla. - The 2010 Stetson volleyball season is set to get underway Friday as the Hatters travel to Harrisonburg, Va. for the JMU Classic. Stetson will take on the host James Madison Dukes at 7 p.m. Friday with matches against Davidson and UNC Asheville to follow at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
The home opener for the Hatters will be next weekend as they host the Clarion Invitational at the Edmunds Center. Bethune-Cookman and Florida Atlantic will be next Friday's opponents while Stetson battles Wofford and Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 4. Tournaments the next two weekends at Elon and Wofford, respectively, lead into the bulk of the Atlantic Sun Conference schedule. This year's A-Sun schedule features a change from double round robin (20 matches) to single round robin (10 matches) with the A-Sun tournament slated to return to FGCU's Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Fla. Nov. 18-20.
Coming off a difficult, illness and injury-riddled season in 2009, the Hatters were predicted for an 11th place finish in the Atlantic Sun Conference preseason coaches poll.
