MACON, Ga. - Sophomore
Chester Espie (Auckland, New Zealand) and junior Diana Bukajeva (Riga, Latvia) were
named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's and Women's Tennis Players of the Week
on Wednesday, as announced by the league.
Espie went undefeated in both singles and doubles play this
past week on his way to earning his first career honor from the conference. In
singles, Espie went 4-0 with three coming from the number six singles position,
and one from the number five spot. His four singles wins extended his current winning

singles position. She helped lead the Hatters to a 2-1 record this week, and
has won 13 straight singles matches, dating back to last season.
The men's team won four matches this week to improve to 8-0,
while the women's team got back over the .500 mark, improving to 5-4 on the
season.
Both teams will begin conference play on Thursday, with
Atlantic Sun Conference newcomer Northern Kentucky coming to town. The women will
play at 12:00 p.m. and the men will begin tentatively at 4:00 p.m. at the Mandy
Stoll Tennis Center.
