Hatters Debut at #20 in Baseball America Poll

DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson baseball team continued its excellent play this past week and has debuted in the prestigious Baseball America poll as the 20th ranked team in the nation. The Hatters went 4-1 last week including an impressive 6-4 extra inning win over #7 Florida State on Wednesday in Tallahassee. Stetson is currently 20-5 overall and is in first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference at 7-2.

Stetson is also ranked in the Collegiate Baseball poll for the 4th consecutive week. After an initial 26th place ranking in that poll the Hatters dropped to 30th, advanced to 28th last week and are now back in the 30th position this week.

The Hatters also debuted in this week's Perfect Game College Baseball poll as #24 in the nation, they received votes in the 29th position of the USA Today/ESPN Top-25 poll, and they are ranked as the 22nd strongest team in Division I by Boyd's World.  

Stetson is off to its best start since 2001 when it opened the season 25-3.

Stetson plays a home-and-home series with UCF on Tuesday and Wednesday (6:30 p.m. starts), and then will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina for a weekend A-Sun series with USC Upstate (Friday at 6:00 p.m. and doubleheader Saturday at 1:00 p.m.).
