DeLand, Fla. - Monday afternoon the Stetson baseball team, along with coaches, staff and supporters gathered at Gator's Dockside in DeLand to watch the NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show. The NCAA announced the 2011 Division I Baseball Championship field of 64 on Monday and Stetson is headed to the Columbia, South Carolina Regional as a No. 2 seed. Stetson (41-18) will open the double-elimination tournament against No. 3 North Carolina State (34-25) on Friday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m.

The No. 1 seed in the Regional and No. 4 National seed South Carolina (45-14) will take on No. 4 Georgia Southern (36-24) Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The losers will play Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in an elimination game and the winner's bracket game will take place at 7:00 p.m.

Stetson earned an at-large bid into the tournament after winning the Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season championship and compiling a 40+ win season for the ninth time in school history. This will be the Hatters' 17th all-time appearance in an NCAA Regional and the first since 2007 when they went 1-2 in Tallahassee defeating Bethune-Cookman and falling to Mississippi State and Florida State.

Stetson fans will be able to listen the Hatters' games live at GoHatters.com with Bill Topping calling the action.
