Fayetteville, Ark. - The Stetson men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Sunday afternoon, falling 6-1 at nationally 72nd-ranked Arkansas. Senior Maksim Levanovich (Minsk, Belarus) picked up the lone point for the Hatters (3-1) at #1 singles.

Levanovich outlasted Nikolas Zogaj 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) at the top of the singles lineup to get Stetson on the scoreboard against the Razorbacks, who improved to 6-1 on the year. Senior Njal Stene (Oslo, Norway) very nearly got a win of his own, narrowly falling 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) in a tiebreaker to Gregoire Lehmann on Court 2. Sophomore Hans Adrian Riseng (Oslo, Norway) too one of his two sets against Mike Ward on Court 4 to a tiebreaker as well.

In doubles, Levanovich and freshman Chester Espie (Auckland, New Zealand) battled the Razorbacks the hardest, playing Zogaj and Lehmann to an 8-6 decision on Court 2.

Stetson returns home to host Florida A&M at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center at noon Saturday, February 18.
