Senior Jonathan Mendoza was named Preseason All-America by College Soccer News, College Sports Madness, and Soccer America this week.  The midfielder was selected to the Second Team by the first two publications, and First Team by the latter.

Mendoza, who was a Third Team All-America selection by the NSCAA at the end of last season, was the only Atlantic Sun Conference player to receive recognition on any list.  The senior led the Hatters in scoring a year ago, and already tallied a couple of scores in the preseason this summer.

The Stetson men's soccer team will open up on the road against Penn State and West Virginia this weekend.  The latter's Eric Shoenle was also honored as an All-American by all three websites this week.
