Baseball Begins Fall Practice Tuesday

Filled with scrimmages, the Hatters series, and a game against Baseball Canada's Junior National Team, the Stetson baseball team's fall season is set to begin with practice on Tuesday, October 2.

The Hatters will practice all this week with the first inter-squad scrimmage set for Saturday, October 6.  The team's scrimmages will begin as four or five inning contests, extending in length as the fall moves along.

A number of practices and five more scrimmages lead up to the game against Baseball Canada on October 20.  The junior national team, which plays against a number of professional teams, will cap its fall season with their tilt against the Hatters at 1:00 p.m. at Melching Field.

The annual Hatter Series will end the fall slate for Stetson.  A three-game series between a split-squad of Hatters, the 2012 version will be played on November 8, 9, and 10.  Of course, all of the dates listed for the fall are subject to change due to weather.
