TAMPA, Fla. - The Stetson women's tennis team finished day one of play on Friday at the ITA
Southeast Regional in Tampa with one doubles victory.
Juniors
Lindsey Cable (Gainesville, Fla.) and MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell (Asheville,
NC) were victorious against Courtney Griffith and Sofia Baptista of UCF,
winning the match 8-3. Their next match will be Saturday at 9 a.m. against
Giulietta Boha and Rita Maisak of FIU.
Freshman
Andrea Crespo (Valencia, Spain) and junior Diana Bukajeva (Riga, Latvia) played
a tough match, but ultimately fell to Lorena Aviles and Melanie Aguirre of UNF,
9-7.
In
singles, Bukajeva fell to Marina Cunningham of North Florida 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. She
will play against Genevieve Lorbergs in the back draw Saturday morning at 9
a.m.
Crespo
was defeated by Elizabeth Kilborn of Georgia Tech 6-4, 6-3. She will face
Natalia Tomaszewicz of FAU in the back draw, also on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
