Despite increasing their points total each set, the Stetson volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at ETSU in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Saturday afternoon at Brooks Gym.

The Bucs (19-10, 10-5 A-Sun) won by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-22.

After posting just 22 kills and a sub-zero attack percentage the night before, the Hatters (4-29, 0-16 A-Sun) performed much better Saturday, finishing with 31 kills and a .134 hitting percentage.

"It was a good team effort, the team played hard, and we did a better job of following the game plan," Stetson head coach Tim Loesch said. "Hopefully we can continue to improve and finish strong next weekend."

Kaley Melville recorded eight kills and Ellen Hawks added six kills and a .455 attack pct. to help lead the offense.  Kelli Carneal (18 assists) and Kayla Weller (12 assists) each recorded double-digit assist totals.  Defensively, Alexa Drost picked up seven digs and Hawks assisted on four the Hatters' six blocks.

"Kelli Carneal and Monique Russell both had good games in their final road trip," Loesch said.  "Also Taylor Johnson (five kills) stepped up today and Kaley Melville had a great game.  I thought Ellen Hawks did a great job hitting and blocking for us."

Megan Divine had 14 kills and 11 digs for the Bucs, who were coming off a victory over previously unbeaten FGCU on Friday night.

The Hatters return home to face Northern Kentucky at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Notes: Senior Kelli Carneal played her 100th career match and moved into the top six in school history in career assists.
