MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic
Sun Conference released its selections for the Men's Cross Country Academic
All-Conference Team on Wednesday, and Stetson senior Kyle Burton was one of the
eight runners who earned the accolades.
Burton currently holds a 3.99 cumulative GPA while majoring
in biochemistry. He ran in six of the seven races this season for Stetson, and
his best time was at the UF Mountain Dew Invitational, where he finished the
race with a time of 29:12.
Burton also finished in 17th with a time 18:09 at the Flrunners.com
Invitational to help lead the Hatters to a first place finish at the event. He
finished his career at the Atlantic Sun Championship race, crossing the finish
line with a time of 29:37.9.
The Atlantic Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic
All-Conference teams in the 2011-2012 academic year to recognize
student-athletes who embody the conference's mission of Building Winners for
Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average
(GPA) or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
