Seven Stetson University softball student-athletes have been recognized as All-America Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, it was recently announced.

The honorees are Carolyn Boyd (Germantown, Tenn.), Tara Formisano (Ridgfield, Conn.), Demi Meza (Oxnard, Calif.), Chrissy Morello (Ormond Beach, Fla.), Meredith Owen (Jackson, Miss.), Chelsea Whalley (Calgary, Alta.), and Grace Turner (Fort Myers, Fla.).

To earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades, a player must have carried a GPA of 3.50 or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.

The Hatters posted a 3.42 team GPA for the 2011-12 academic year, tying for the 22nd-highest team GPA in all of Division I.
