The Stetson men's basketball team (2-5) gets back into action Sunday afternoon, hosting Florida International (2-3) at the Edmunds Center.  The 2:00 p.m. contest will mark the first meeting between the Hatters and the Panthers since 1998.

While Stetson is currently in the midst of a four-game losing streak, the Hatters are still excelling on the offensive side in 2012-13.  The team is leading the Atlantic Sun Conference in scoring offense with 71.3 points per game, and is the only squad with four players averaging in double figures.

Senior Adam Pegg, who tallied a season-best 24 on Thursday against FAU, leads the way with 16.2 per tilt.  Junior Aaron Graham adds 13.5 points per game, senior Joel Naburgs is scoring 12.1 per contest, and junior Chris Perez is averaging 10.7 points this season.

Florida International, in head coach Richard Pitino's first season at the helm, has also been performing well offensively in 2012-13.  The Panthers hold similar numbers to Stetson, averaging 73.0 points and shooting 44.4 percent from the floor to the Hatters' 44.8 percent.

FIU is 2-3 in the early part of the season, and is already 1-1 in Sun Belt play, recently defeating Arkansas State and falling to South Alabama.  The Panthers are led by a trio of double digit scorers, including Malik Smith, who is averaging 15.0 points per game.

While Sunday marks the first meeting between Florida International and Stetson since 1998, the two teams have faced off 17 times in the all-time series.  The Panthers hold an 11-6 advantage, and have won five game to the Hatters' three in contests held in DeLand.

The afternoon game can be watched for free on HatterVision and ASun.TV with play-by-play from Ryan Rouse.  It will also be aired on the radio at WSBB 1230 AM in New Smyrna, 1490 AM in DeLand, and online at MyAM1230.comLive Stats, the @StetsonMBB Twitter feed, and Hat-Alerts are also available for in-game updates.
