MACON, Ga. - On
the heels of her first career start this past Wednesday, freshman Caili Guilday
was named Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, as
announced by the league office.
The first ever weekly honor for the Stetson University
Lacrosse program, Guilday's Defensive Player of the Week nod came directly
after her first career start in goal for the Hatters. The freshman recorded 17 saves in Stetson's
promising 13-6 loss to Bryant on March 13, and was recently named a captain for
the inaugural Hatters squad.
Appearing in five out of seven games thus far, Guilday
currently holds an 11.53 goals-against-average, and a .561 save
percentage. She has made 37 saves in 150
minutes, while picking up three ground balls for the Hatters.
Guilday and Stetson will hit the road for the first time on
Tuesday, playing at #2 Florida at 6:30 p.m.
The Hatters will then return home to host Marist on Thursday, March 21
at 6:00 p.m.
