The Stetson women's tennis team (7-5) snapped a four-game winning streak, falling to Harvard (6-3) by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

The Crimson earned the first point of the match, as all three doubles pairs defeated the Hatter duos to take the early 1-0 lead.  It marked the first time Stetson lost the doubles point in the team's last four outings, and just the second time all season that the Hatters' dropped all three doubles matches.

The Hatters fought back, tying the match at 1-1 when senior Sara Lazarevic defeated Kristin Horton by a score of 6-3, 6-0. Harvard answered by winning the next five singles matches. Stetson freshman Andrea Crespo and junior Lindsey Cable won their first sets, but both ended up falling in three sets.

"Harvard had the final word on a couple three-setters that could have gone either way," Stetson assistant coach Christophe Noblet said. "It was definitely a great fight today."

Stetson's other singles win went to freshman Eveline Lepinay, who defeated Amanda Lin 7-6 (1), 2-6, 7-6 (2) to give the Hatters their second point of the day.

"I am very pleased with the way the ladies fought back in singles after losing the doubles point today," Stetson Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote said.

Stetson will return to conference play, when they travel to Georgia for a pair of matches this weekend. They will play against Kennesaw State on Friday at 12:00 p.m. and against Mercer at 10:00 a.m.

"We are looking forward to our trip in Georgia this weekend," Noblet said. "Playing on the road is never an easy task, and Kennesaw State and Mercer are two good programs."

Match notes: Stetson is 0-2 against Ivy League schools this season ... Diana Bukajeva had her singles win streak snapped today, ending at 15 matches.
