The Stetson tennis teams will travel to Jacksonville to take on North Florida in the Hatters’ final road matches of the regular season on Saturday. The women will take on the Ospreys at 10:00 a.m., and the men will challenge the 66th ranked UNF squad at 2:00 p.m.
On the women’s side, Stetson (9-7, 4-2) will look to bounce back after dropping a pair of conference matches this past weekend. The Hatters currently sit in fourth in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings, and will look to make up some ground on Saturday.
In order to do that, they will need to defeat the defending conference champion North Florida Ospreys (10-4, 3-1). UNF is currently in second place in the conference, trailing only ETSU.
On the men’s side, Stetson enters with a record of 14-2 overall, and 5-1 in conference play, good for second place. Already having clinched a spot in the league championships, the Hatters split their last two matches, falling to ETSU by a score of 6-1 and bouncing back to defeat USC Upstate by an identical 6-1 margin.
The Ospreys enter with a 10-6 record, are 4-0 in the A-Sun, and are currently ranked 66th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. UNF is also in first place in the conference, has played nine matches against ranked opponents, and is taking on nationally ranked Florida State on Friday afternoon.
The women’s team will return home for a match on Wednesday, April 10 against UCF, before both teams play host to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday for the Hatters’ final matches of the regular season.
