MACON, Ga. – Senior JJ Bostic was named Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week for his performance in the Stetson men’s soccer team’s 2-1 victory over Florida Gulf Coast, as was announced by the league office on Monday morning.

Tied 1-1, Bostic scored the game-winner against the Eagles with just over eight minutes to play in the contest, handing FGCU its first loss in A-Sun play this season. It was also just the Eagles’ third conference loss in the last four seasons of play.

Also leading the Stetson defense from a center back position, Bostic now has two goals in his senior season. The Hatters moved up to fifth place in the A-Sun standings with seven points and a 2-3-1 league record.

This marks the first weekly honor in Bostic’s career, and it is the second time Stetson has been honored by the conference this season. Senior Andreas Schnabl earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades after leading the Hatters to a shutout of Mercer last weekend.

Stetson will head back on the road to finish the regular season in an attempt to secure an A-Sun Tournament berth. The Hatters play at North Florida this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Stetson closes out the regular season at Jacksonville and at Florida Atlantic.
