DeLAND—Stetson women’s golf team is alone in second, just two shots behind the tournament team leader, after two rounds of play at the Hatter Classic, which teed off Monday at Victoria Hills Golf Club.

The Hatters shot a two-round score of 604 (297-307) and trail team leader Daytona State (602) with one round remaining in the six-team field. Stetson is the tournament’s six-time defending champion.

Freshman Alessandra Kutz is alone in second place after shooting 4-over par 148 972-76). She trails overall leader Tiffany Chan of Daytona State by nine strokes.

Freshman Giulia Vandenberg is fourth overall after shooting 150 (76-74). Senior Mallory Viera is fifth at 154 (74-80).

Seniors Jenna Hoecker (75-81) and Ryan Ashburn (79-77) are tied for eighth at 156.

Stetson has a second team in the field, playing as Stetson White. The white squad is sixth overall after shooting 683 (349-334).

Senior Claudia Redinger leads the white squad after her 162 (83-79) has her tied for 15th. Valeria Llovet is 23rd at 167 982-85), while Zsofi Szurovski is 27th at 172 (86-86).

Sophomore Courtney Denson is 28th after shooting 182 (98-84), and freshman Christina Gerecke is 29th at 188 (98-90).

The third and final round is set for a 7:30 a.m., shotgun start on Tuesday.
