Stetson University outside hitter McKenna Foster has been selected as the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.

Foster registered a team-best 35 kills and a 2.92 kills-per-set average to help lead Stetson a 2-1 mark at the FAU Invitational this past weekend.  In her first career match, Foster recorded 10 kills and nine digs in Stetson's 3-2 come-from-behind win over McNeese State.  She also collected seven kills in the Hatters' 3-0 win vs. Bethune-Cookman as Stetson began the year 2-0 for the first time since 1996.

Against Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Foster recorded a team-high 18 kills along with 11 digs for her first career double-double.  In addition to her 35 kills, Foster registered 22 digs, seven blocks, and three aces for the week.  For her performance, she was named to the FAU Invitational all-tournament team.

A native of Ocala, Fla., Foster is majoring in Digital Arts.

The Hatters (2-1) will compete at The Citadel Tournament in Charleston, S.C. on Friday and Saturday.
