Stetson Athletics today announced changes to the men's soccer coaching staff. Jared Vock has been promoted to interim head coach while volunteer assistant Jonathan Adams has been promoted to interim assistant coach. The changes are effective immediately.
Vock will begin his third season with the program this fall. A 2010 graduate of Grand Canyon University, Vock spent eight season coaching at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., before joining the Hatters. At IMG Vock trained players aged 12 through 18 and worked with the Under 14 & Under 18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Teams. Vock was also an assistant coach with IMG's USL - PDL team the Bradenton Academics in 2014.
He played collegiately at both South Florida and LeMoyne. Vock has earned an “A” license from the United States Soccer Federation.
Adams is also in his third season with the Hatters. Prior to his time at Stetson Adams spent the previous two years as the Director of Coaching at Massapequa Soccer Club in New York.
Adams has experience coaching in the collegiate ranks, serving one season as a men's assistant coach at Hofstra (2011-12) and spending two seasons as both the men's and women's assistant at Mars Hill (2007-09), his alma mater. He graduated from Mars Hill in 2006 with a degree in Sports Management, and received his Master's in Kinesiology from Texas-Permian Basin in 2011.
He is married to Stetson volleyball head coach Kristina Hernandez.
A national search for a permanent head coach will begin in October.
