Stetson men's soccer placed three of its members on the All-Atlantic Sun Tournament Team Saturday night. Ben Dyon, Kevin Munz and Tanner Wolfe all tabbed post-season honors for the Hatters, who finished as the tournament runner-up.
Senior Ben Dyon captained a defense that shutdown Jacksonville and nearly helped the Hatters to their second consecutive A-Sun Tournament title against Gardner-Webb. He led the team in assists during the regular season.
"Ben's a senior that's been an absolute rock for us in the back," said Head Coach Sean Murphy. "His organization, distribution and his marking and tackling have been fantastic. He's been a great leader for us."
KevinMunz scored the game-winner Friday night against Jacksonville when he beat the defense on Alessandro Barcherini's goal kick.
"Kevin was an asoblute work horse for us," commented Murphy. "He never gave up on any balls and that really typifies whatI want our players to be about. Kevin has a huge heart and gave everything he's got."
Tanner Wolfe ledthe Stetson offense, scoring two of the team's total of three goals. One came on a penalty kick Saturday night and the other was a terrific score off a free kick against Jacksonville.
"Tanner is an extremely skilled player," said Murphy. "With his work ethic, passion and enthusiasm for the game, I am really proud of his efforts."
