WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior Diana Bukajeva proved she is a seriously tough out on Saturday. She won two matches to advance to the finals of the B Bracket at the Wake Forest Invitational.

Bukajeva defeated Nell Gaigher of Campbell 7-5, 5-7, 6-0 in her first match of the day. She then topped Nataliya Bredikhina of Maryland by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Bukajeva will play Courtney Earnest of Ball State in the championship.

"Diana played especially well," Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote said. "Her first match lasted almost three hours and she had to come back an hour later to play a tough ACC opponent."

Freshman Brittany Hill also had success on Saturday. She defeated Georgina Pons of Richmond 6-1, 6-2. Hill advances to the finals of the seven-person F Bracket and will take on Denny Lamachia of Richmond on Sunday.

"It's great to see Brittany in the final of her first collegiate tournament," Pilote said. "She is playing with confidence."

Hill also teamed with sophomore Eveline Lepinay to top Mullen/Thaggard of Appalachian State 8-3 in doubles consolation play.

"To have two finalists in such a quality tournament is outstanding for Stetson Tennis," Pilote conclude.
