DELAND, Fla. – The Stetson University men’s tennis team will put its two match win streak on the line this weekend against conference foes, Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky, as it travels out of state for the second and final time during the A-Sun schedule.
The Hatters (8-8, 3-2) most recently defeated Mercer (4-0) and Kennesaw State (5-2) this past weekend to close out their 2014 home slate. Stetson is just one of four schools in the conference with three wins or more and is a match and a half off the pace of first place ETSU (4-0).
Last season Stetson swept weekend matches with both schools (6-1 vs. NKU/ 4-3 vs. LU) in DeLand and will be looking to repeat the feat in 2014, but on road.
Lipscomb enters Friday’s match with a 1-2 conference mark and at 2-10 overall, while Northern Kentucky takes on FGCU before its date with Stetson on Saturday. The Norse carry an 0-4 A-Sun mark into the weekend and stand at 3-8 overall.
The Hatters and Bison begin play at 4:30 p.m., Friday in Nashville and then take on NKU at 2 p.m., Saturday in Highland Heights, Ky.
The match with the Norse will be available for fans to watch via A-SunTV, but fans can also follow @StetsonTennis on Twitter and sign up for Hat-Alerts, the athletic department’s official text messaging system for match updates.
