Kevin Dux
Position: Assistant Coach
Alma Mater: Coe College, 2009
Phone: (386) 822-7336
Email: kdux@stetson.edu

Kevin Dux begins his third season with the Stetson men’s basketball program, and his first as an assistant coach after serving the previous two seasons as Director of Basketball Operations.

Dux originally joined the Hatters after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant with the Florida State men’s basketball program, where he worked closely with Stetson head coach Corey Williams and assistant coach Bert Capel.

In his role as assistant coach, Dux’s duties will include working with Stetson’s post players, recruiting and scheduling. He will also serve as the team’s academic supervisor.

“When I hired Kevin as Director of Basketball Operations two years ago, I thought then that I had the best of both worlds,” said Williams. “I had a guy who was knowledgeable in basketball and how to develop players, but he’s also very organized and helped keep me organized. I have no reservations about now adding him to our staff as an assistant coach.”

Dux earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Management at Florida State while assisting the Seminoles basketball program for two seasons. At FSU he was responsible for tracking the academic progression of the student-athletes, assisting with film breakdown and scouting reports, helping coaches with recruiting visits, and supervising five undergraduate managers.

“Words can’t describe how excited I am,” Dux said. “I’ve known Coach Williams for four years going back to our time together at Florida State and I’ve always had a great relationship with him. I came here with the goal of moving up to an assistant coach. In this business you never know. It’s all about opportunity and timing, and I’m thankful that coach is very loyal to me.”

A four-year letterwinner at Coe College in Iowa, Dux earned All-Iowa Conference, Academic All-Iowa Conference, ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District, and NABC Honors Court accolades as a student-athlete.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Coe College in 2009, Dux stayed at his alma mater as an assistant coach for two seasons.

Dux is also a veteran of Leonard Hamilton’s Florida State Basketball Camp, where he worked as an Assistant Camp Director. There he was responsible for all administrative camp functions, executing an effective marketing campaign for the event, as well as the hiring and monitoring of camp staff.
