DeLand, Fla. - Stetson University's student-athletes continued to achieve high marks in the classroom as well as on the athletic fields and courts in 2009-10 as 12 of the 15 varsity teams posted GPAs of 3.0 or higher in both the fall and spring semesters.  67 percent of student-athletes earned Dean's List or Honor Roll acclaim while the cumulative GPA of the Stetson athletic department reached 3.09, the highest figure in recent history.

Head Coach Pierre Pilote's men's tennis squad not only tallied another 20-win season in dual match competition but impressively put all 11 of its student-athletes on either the Dean's List or the Honor Roll at Stetson.  Overall, 14 out of 15 teams had at least 50 percent of its roster earn academic honors; women's soccer (85 percent), men's soccer (83 percent), women's tennis (78 percent) and softball (72 percent) round out the Stetson top five in that category.  In total, 159 out of 236 Stetson Hatters (67 percent) were lauded for their academic performance.
