DeLand, Fla. - The National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) has named Stetson rising junior Alexandria Buelow (Palm City, Fla.) and rising sophomore Sammi Smith (Louisville, Ky.) to its Division I All-America Scholar Teams for 2010-11. Buelow, a Sport Management major, and Smith, a Mathematics major, earned the academic honors for maintaining at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Buelow earned her second consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year award and won the individual A-Sun tournament championship to lead the Hatters to their third consecutive A-Sun women's golf championship.  She played to a 73.4 stroke average on the year with 11 rounds of even par or better and also claimed tournament titles at the UNCG Starmount Invitational and the Siena Homewood Suites Invitational.

Smith played to a 79.6 stroke average as a freshman with two top five finishes, at the Holiday Inn Express Hatter Classic and at the Siena Homewood Suites Invitational.  Her career low round was a pair of even par 72s in the fall campaign.

In all, 566 NCAA Division I women's golfers were named All-American Scholars for 2010-11. Stetson opens its quest for a fourth consecutive A-Sun championship on October 3 when it travels to Reno, Nev. for the Wolf Pack Classic.
