DeLand, Fla. - For the second time in the past three weeks, Stetson junior guard Victoria McGowan (Inkster, Mich.) has been named Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. McGowan recorded the fifth triple-double in program history and just the fourth in the nation this season Sunday at Ball State and also paced the Hatters to a win over ETSU in Thursday's A-Sun opener.

McGowan began her week with seven points, five rebounds and five assists in Stetson's 68-60 victory over ETSU at the Edmunds Center on Thursday; 3,417 fans on Volusia County Schoolchildren Day saw the Hatters defeat the Lady Bucs for the first time since 1995.

A historic performance was on tap for McGowan in Muncie, Indiana on Sunday as she recorded 26 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and eight steals in a tough 78-73 2OT loss to Ball State at Worthen Arena. McGowan hit a three-pointer at the buzzer of the first extra session to send the game into double overtime; she set career highs in assists and steals, tied a career scoring high and came up just one rebound shy of tying her career high in that category as well. Her triple-double was the first by a Hatter since Lamilia Ford had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals at USF on January 9, 1996; only three other players in NCAA Division I women's basketball had notched triple-doubles in the 2011-12 season.

McGowan previously was named A-Sun Player of the Week on November 22 for leading Stetson to three straight wins in the Winthrop Classic (Rock Hill, S.C.) and tournament MVP honors at that event. She is the first Hatter to be named A-Sun Player of the Week twice in the same season since Nefertiti Walker in 2005-06.

Stetson is 6-3 on the season and is back in action at 7:00 pm Thursday at Georgia Southern. "Voice of the Hatters" Bill Topping will broadcast the action on Hatter Vision live from Statesboro, Ga.; fans can listen to his call and follow Live Stats at GoHatters.com.
