Collegiate Baseball Magazine announced its preseason Louisville Slugger All-America teams on Tuesday and Stetson’s Kurt Schluter and Jake Boyd were both named to the third team.

Schluter returns for his junior season this year after taking Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year honors in 2011 despite missing the final six weeks of the season with an injury. He finished with an 8-0 record in 10 starts with a 1.40 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 57.2 innings of work.

Boyd is back for his senior season after posting an incredible 9-1 record out of the bull pen in 2011. He also had six saves in his 38 appearances and posted a 2.93 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 61.1 innings of work.

The Stetson duo were part of an incredible 16 players from programs in the state of Florida named to one of the three teams. That group included Adam Brett Walker of A-Sun foe Jacksonville, who was named to the first team.

The Hatters are scheduled to open the 2012 season on Friday, February 17, when they host George Washington to open a three-game weekend series at Melching Field.
