The Ultimate Club, SUBLIME, hosted the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) on Saturday, March 24th on Rinker Field in the heart of Stetson University's campus. SUBLIME lost to the nationally ranked FIT team by a score of 15-6, but the club members will take what they learned from the game and use it to improve for next year.
This past weekend, the Ultimate Club co-hosted their first hatter tournament with the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Dirty Birds Ultimate Club. A hatter tournament consists of ultimate frisbee players that join individually rather than with a team. The tournament director creates teams of these players by drawing names from a hat. The teams then play each other for full, fun-filled day of ultimate frisbee. The Dirty Mad Hatter hosted by Stetson and ERAU had over forty ultimate players out this past Saturday, April 7th in Daytona Beach. There were four teams created with the white team winning the championship. Harry Barnes and Kaya Novielli of Stetson were on the championship team that beat the yellow team, which had one Stetson player, club president, Mark Kisch. Overall, it was a great tournament and the Stetson Ultimate club is looking forward to hosting many more in the future.
