DeLand, Fla. - Stetson Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote is proud to announce the addition of a pair of talented student-athletes to the women's tennis squad. Eveline Lepinay (Quebec City, Quebec) and Alexandra Lyubimova (Miami, Fla.) will join the Hatters as freshmen this fall.

Lepinay graduated from Cardinal-Roy Secondary School this spring as one of the most accomplished junior tennis players not only in her province but in all Canada, earning at one time the #1 ranking in Quebec and the #9 ranking among Canadian female juniors. She owns singles wins over three of her nation's top 12 junior players and a doubles win over the top-ranked pair in Canada. An avid runner and skiier and planned international business major, Lepinay chose Stetson over Morehead State and St. Bonaventure.

Lyubimova, who was born in Murmansk, Russia but emigrated to south Florida in her youth, graduated from Miami's Westminster Christian School this spring as an honor student and member of the Foreign Language Honors Society. She was Westminster's top tennis player each of the past three seasons and owns the #264 ITF national ranking with wins over three ITF USA Top 100 players in singles and one over a top 100 American doubles pair. Lyubimova is also an accomplished pianist who intends to major in biochemistry.

"Both Eveline and Alexandra are great additions to our program and great competitors," Pilote said. "Despite her young age (Lepinay graduated early and will turn 17 in July) Eveline is extremely experienced in high level tennis competitions. She plays an exciting style of tennis based on speed."

"Alexandra has a ton of potential and has her best tennis still in front of her. She wasn't able to play the top tournaments in Florida for the past few years which has kept her ranking low but was still able to log some impressive victories against Top 100 American players."

Stetson went 14-7 overall and 6-3 in A-Sun action in 2012 with the majority of its starting lineup slated to return.
