Stetson University Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote announced three new members of the Hatters women’s tennis team on Friday. Isabella Fernandez, Marta Gonzalez, and Brittany Hill will join the Stetson squad for the 2013-14 season.

Fernandez comes to DeLand via Caracas, Venezuela, where she attended Gimnasio Virtual San Francisco Javier.  The incoming freshman has been ranked as high as fourth in Venezuela, and also trained in Valencia, Spain.

Gonzalez, who hails from Vigo, Spain, was ranked 54th nationally in 2012.  Twice a semifinalist in the Galacian Team Championships, Gonzalez was also the individual champion of the tournament.

Hill is a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., where she attended East Chapel Hill High.  A four-year letterwinner in tennis, Hill was a multiple time all-conference and all-region honoree.  In 2010, she added all-state accolades.

"This is another very good recruiting class for our women’s program," Pilote said. "Although it is always difficult to replace graduating seniors, I feel confident that our returning players will step up and our freshmen will contribute significantly to next season's success."
