Men's XC Picked 9th; Women Selected 10th in A-Sun Poll

MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Coaches Poll was announced on Thursday, and the Stetson men’s and women’s cross country teams were predicted to finish ninth and 10th in the league, respectively.

ETSU earned the top spot in the men’s poll, receiving six first place votes and 94 total points. Lipscomb was second with one first place nod and 74 points, while Kennesaw State came in third with two votes for first and 67 total points.

FGCU and USC Upstate rounded out the top five with the Eagles grabbing 65 points and the Spartans totaling 63 points, as well as the final first place vote. Northern Kentucky (53), Mercer (51), and North Florida (50) finished just ahead of Stetson (18) in the poll. Jacksonville (15) was slated 10th.

On the women’s side, Lipscomb received all 10 first place votes for a perfect point total of 100. North Florida was picked second with 86 points, while Jacksonville earned the third spot in the poll with 78 points.

ETSU and Kennesaw State rounded out the top five with 71 and 59 points, respectively. Mercer (48), FGCU (42), Northern Kentucky (31), and USC Upstate (24) were slated in the sixth through ninth positions.
