Lauryn Hunter enters her second year as Assistance Athletic Trainer at Stetson University, working primarily with football.

A native of Belle, West Virginia, Lauryn graduated cum laude and with field honors from Concord University in 2010 with her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training with a minor in biology.  While at Concord, she provided coverage for football, basketball, softball, and baseball. 

Upon graduation, she enjoyed an internship with ESPN Wild World of Sports, and worked as an athletic trainer for West Virginia University Institute of Technology with the men’s and women’ basketball programs as well as served as the athletic trainer for the West Virginia Chaos, a PDL soccer team.

In 2013, she earned her master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Georgia Southern University while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the 2011 Southern Conference Champion football team and 2013 Southern Conference Champion softball team.  In May 2013, she successfully defended her thesis “Gait Variability following a Sports-Related Concussion”. 

She is nationally certified and also licensed in the states of Florida and West Virginia.  She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). 

Lauryn is currently completing her Corrective Exercise Specialist certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
