Coming off of back-to-back wins for the first time this season, the Stetson men’s soccer team returns to action on Saturday playing at North Florida at 7:00 p.m. in Jacksonville.

After defeating Mercer and then first place Florida Gulf Coast in two straight home contests, the Hatters (3-8-3, 2-3-1) find themselves in the playoff hunt with just two Atlantic Sun Conference matches remaining on the schedule. Stetson is currently in fifth place with seven league points, but sits in the fourth spot in the A-Sun Tournament as Northern Kentucky is tied for second.

North Florida (5-5-2, 1-3-1) enters Saturday’s contest in seventh place in the A-Sun with four points. The Ospreys recently defeated Mercer on the road, and tied NKU earlier in the season. Losses to ETSU, Lipscomb, and USC Upstate round out the Ospreys’ conference competition.

• Six other Hatters have scored in 2013; Bostic (2), Dwight Lodge (2), Centofanti, Evan Jimmo, Justin Shirah, and Gianluca Carbone.

• Senior Andreas Schnabl’s shutout against Mercer was the 15th of his career, which is a school record.

• Schnabl’s eight saves against Mercer also tied a career best. It tied for the most since Logan Potter’s 13 vs. Lipscomb on 10/9/09.

• Schnabl was named Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Bears.

• Schnabl also earned Capital One Academic All-District honors for his performance on the field and in the classroom.
