The Stetson men’s basketball team will return to Jacksonville for the second time in three days for a meeting with North Florida on Saturday evening. The Hatters and the Ospreys are scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. from the UNF Arena.
Stetson was led by a career night from redshirt-freshman Brian Pegg in an 88-75 loss to Jacksonville on Thursday. The forward scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the first double-double by a Hatter this season, and the first 15-board performance for a Stetson player in nearly five years. Pegg leads the Atlantic Sun during league play with 9.8 rebounds per game.
North Florida lost its second straight game on Thursday, falling to Florida Gulf Coast 79-75 at home. The Ospreys are 9-9 overall and 3-2 in conference action. UNF has wins over Kennesaw State, Mercer, and Lipscomb, and the Ospreys’ second loss in league play came at the hands of Northern Kentucky.
The Ospreys swept the season series a year ago, but Stetson leads UNF 10-7 in the all-time series between the two teams. However, North Florida has won seven out of the last 10 meetings, as well as four out of the last five games against Stetson.
Saturday’s matchup can be heard live on WSBB AM 1230, WTJV AM 1490, and online at MyAM1230.com with Robbie Aaron on the call. There will also be a live stream on ASun.TV, Live Stats, the @StetsonMBB Twitter feed, and Hat-Alerts for fans to follow the action.
