The Stetson lacrosse team will welcome in its third straight non-conference opponent to the Athletic Training Center, hosting Cincinnati on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
The Hatters (0-3) are in the midst of a five-game home stand, last taking the field back on Feb. 13th in a 12-4 loss to Colorado. Heading into Friday’s contest, head coach Nicole Moore’s team has put the ball in the net a total of seven times. Stetson’s two leading goal scorers in the early going are sophomore Mary Kate O’Sullivan and freshman Julia Lozano, each having scored two. Junior Samantha Akl leads the team in assists with three.
The Bearcats come to DeLand with a 0-1 mark following a 25-1 defeat to Notre Dame in South Bend to start the season. Last year Cinci went 7-9 overall, but were just 1-7 in Big East Conference action. The Bearcats return nine starters from 2013, including top scorers Megan Bell (29 goals) and Taylor Young (26 goals).
Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Athletic Training Center and admission is free. For those not in attendance, the action can be seen live on HatterVision. Live stats, the @StetsonLacrosse Twitter feed, and Hat-Alerts are also available for in-game updates.
