The Stetson men’s tennis team will compete in its second straight road match this weekend when it takes on Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Saturday. The Hatters (1-2) last played Friday, Feb. 14 in a 4-3 loss at Florida Atlantic and just this week added the contest with the NAIA’s Seahawks.

“After the FAU road loss, we felt that the players were in need of more matches to adjust their games for the upcoming challenges,” Stetson associate head coach Christophe Noblet said. “Northwood is currently ranked No. 17 in the NAIA so it does constitute a good test for our squad.”

Northwood enters the match-up with a 2-1 record, having dropped their most recent meeting with No. 19 (NAIA) Warner University, 6-3 on its home courts.

“Our primary focus will be on doubles,” Noblet explained. “Our slow start cost us the point against FAU, so I am looking forward to our guys being eager to compete from the first point on.”

The match between the Hatters and the Seahawks will take place at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach and will be played under NCAA Division I rules. Competition starts at 1:00 p.m.
