MACON, Ga. – A total of three Stetson men’s tennis players combined for four separate post-season awards, the Atlantic Sun Conference announced Wednesday. Nathan Debut, Cahit Kapukiran and Graham Ball were all given spots on the A-Sun All-Conference First, Second and Freshman Teams respectively.

Debut, a junior from Toulon, France headlined the class, earning First Team honors from the A-Sun for his singles performance in 2014. Debut compiled an 8-6 record in 16 matches, playing at the Hatters’ No. 1 position. He also earned nine victories in doubles play, splitting time at the No. 1, 2 and 3 positions. Debut was named to the A-Sun’s All-Freshman in 2012, but this is his first appearance on the conference’s First or Second Team.

It is on the Second Team that two other Stetson players can be found in the form of Kapukiran and Ball, where both were recognized for their singles play this season. Kapukiran, a sophomore from Izmir, Turkey was on the All-Conference squad in 2013 as a freshman. This season he was awarded a spot in the No. 4 position on the Second Team, as he went 12-7 in singles play, winning six straight matches to finish out the season.

Ball, a freshman from Baie-D'Urfe, Quebec, earned a spot on the Second Team as well but at the No. 5 slot, with his 14-3 record in singles play. He was the only Hatter with multiple selections as he was also named to the All-Freshman Team, the third straight season Stetson has had at least one player on that list.

Since the post-season awards were given out in 2012, this is the third consecutive year that the Hatters have at least three players garner post-season awards from the A-Sun.

Stetson finished the regular season with a 10-9 record and a 5-3 mark in the conference. It will next take part in the Atlantic Sun Championship, Apr. 17-19 at North Florida. The Hatters are a No. 4 seed and take on No. 5 USC Upstate in their opening round match, Thursday in Jacksonville.
