DeLAND—Eduarda Pavao scored the game-winning goal in the 77th minute, lifting Stetson to a 1-0 exhibition win over Embry-Riddle, Sunday at the Athletic Training Center.

This was Stetson’s second and final exhibition match before opening the regular season on Friday at home against Minnesota.

Despite controlling play throughout the first half and much of the second half, the Hatters couldn’t find the mark against the Eagles. Pavao finally gave the Hatters the advantage when she headed a cross from Mara Keomanivane past ERAU goalkeeper Jennifer Grimes.

Stetson nearly took a lead into the locker room at halftime. Freshman Adrianna Suarez was stopped from point-blank range in the 45th minute by ERAU keeper Olivia Lynch, despite a near-perfect cross from fellow Stetson freshman Katlyn Sullivan.

The Hatters out-shot the Eagles, 9-5, with both teams having three shots on goal. Freshman goalkeepers Karlie Hightower, Ashley Ingolia and Kahri Smith combined to stop three shots.

Stetson hosts Big Ten foe Minnesota, 7 p.m., Friday at the Athletic Training Center in the regular-season opener for both teams.
