DeLand, Fla. - Both the Stetson men's and women's golf teams are in second place after 36 holes in the Stetson/CFSC Invitational (men) and the Hatter Fall Classic (women) Monday at Victoria Hills Golf Club.  Freshman Alexandria Buelow (Palm City, Fla.) shot 72-74 and is tied for the lead at +2 in the women's event; the Hatters are 35 over par, seven strokes behind leader Daytona State.  The Stetson men are tied for second with Florida Atlantic at seven over par, 19 strokes behind Florida Gulf Coast.  Sophomore Sam Ryder (Longwood, Fla.) shot 70-73 and is tied for eighth place invidually (-1).

Buelow and Bethune-Cookman's Emma Tayler shot matching rounds of 72-74 and are tied for the lead, two strokes ahead of Florida Southern's Silvie Dittertova.

The Hatters are competing in this tournament without the services of defending Hatter Fall Classic and A-Sun Tournament champion Danielle Jackson (Seminole, Fla.), who is competing at LPGA Futures Tour Qualifying School this week.  Junior Lauren Darnell (Gainesville, Ga.) and sophomore Lauren Cate (St. Augustine, Fla.) had 76-77 and 77-76 respectively and are tied for 10th at nine over par while freshman Anna Hancock (Lakeland, Fla.) and junior Alex Banham (Birmingham, England) round out the team.  Hancock shot 81-78 and Banham had 84-78.  Sophomore TJ Adipietro (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and junior Lauren Eliopoulos (Akron, Ohio) are competing as individuals for Stetson in this tournament; Adipietro carded 76-86 on Monday while Eliopoulos struggled to matching 94s.

Daytona State, led by ex-Hatter Jennifer Gartin's second round 71, put on a massive afternoon rally to finish the day +28, seven strokes ahead of Stetson.  Florida Southern is in third at +37 with Florida Atlantic (+40), Bethune-Cookman (+42), USC Upstate (+64) and Lipscomb (+109) rounding out the field.

In the men's competition, Ryder was tied for second place after his two under par 70 in the morning round, shooting par or better for the 11th time in 13 tries this fall.  Senior Dave McAndrew (Barrington, R.I.) and junior Gabe Costa (Tequesta, Fla.) are tied for 12th at +1 as McAndrew shot 74-71 and Costa 73-72.  Also competing for the Hatters are redshirt freshman Micah Jacobsen (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) and freshman Adam Kipi (Oviedo, Fla.); they carded 73-79 (+8) and 78-77 (+11) respectively.

FGCU golfers tallied six sub-par rounds in 10 tries on Monday to end the day 12 under par with a commanding lead over Stetson and FAU.  Murray State (+9), USC Upstate (+18), Rollins (+31), Jacksonville (+34), Bethune-Cookman (+38) and Lipscomb (+45) are also in the field.  B-CU's Willie Mack shot 68-70 to reach six under par; he takes a two-stroke lead over Nick Newcomb (Murray State) and Patrick Williams (FGCU) into tomorrow's final round.
