Pete Dunn Baseball Camp

Each session is designed to give the players individual instruction in all phases of the game. The camp staff is composed of Stetson University baseball coaches and players. The drills and techniques taught at the camp are the same that are used by the Stetson baseball team. These techniques have a proven record of success.

Teaching Day Camp: July 9th-July 12th

This session is open to players between the ages of 8 and 13 who wish to attend on a "day" basis only. The content of the camp is designed to build and strengthen the basic fundamentals of the game. The camp staff is committed to the principal that before a player's baseball potential can be met he or she must have mastered the fundamentals of correct throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, bunting, baserunning and a positive mental attitude and approach to the game. The teaching day camp will be held at The Sperling Sports Complex. Campers will be required to furnish their own lunch or purchase them at the concession stand.

Super Skills 2-Day Instruction:

Hitting: July 16th-July 17th

Pitching/Defense: July 18th-July 19th

This session is open to players between the ages of 8-13 who wish to attend a day session and focus on a particular skill. These separate 2 day sessions will have the players focus on the fundamentals of either hitting or pitching and defense. The Hitting Session is designed to build and strengthen the basic fundamentals of hitting (stance, grip, stride, swing). The Pitching/Defense is designed to give the players individual instruction in all phases of pitching or defense (drills, fielding position, mechanical breakdown).

Cost: Fee for the Day camp is $180. Fee for Super Skills 2 Day Instruction $100 separate, $175 if you want to combine and do both.

*There are no refunds for camp. If there is a cancelation we offer an opportunity to attend another Pete Dunn baseball camp

Quality Instruction- Coach Dunn has assembled an outstanding professional staff of experience coaches know for their ability to teach the fundamentals of baseball. Since this camp has limited enrollment, the very low instructor-camper ration will enable the camper to enjoy much individual teaching.

Quality Facilities- The camp is headquarter on the campus of beautiful Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Campers will be housed at the University Inn Motel adjacent to Stetson. Each room has air-conditioning and has a color T.V. Meals will be catered by area restaurants. Campers utilize three facilities which house six fields. One of these is Stetson's new $4.5 million Melching Field at Conrad Park.

Individual Evaluation- A special feature of the camp will be a detailed written evaluation of each camper. The evaluation will be from a pro/college type workout with a 60-yard dash time, arm strength, home to first time, hitting rating and defensive ability.

Enforced security and supervision- The camps are for the serious player and required discipline on and off the field. In order to achieve quality instruction, camp staff will strictly enforce proper behavior and curfew. Improper behavior will result in disciplinary action, which could include being sent home prior to the end of the session. Campers are housed at the University Inn Motel with supervision on each floor. They will be transported daily in camp vans and buses. Any campers driving their own cars to camp will be required to check their keys with camp officials upon arrival and use camp vehicles for all transportation during the week.

Central Location- Camps are located in beautiful DeLand, Florida which is centrally located 20 miles west of Daytona Beach and 35 miles northeast of Orlando. Campers arriving by air should use either Daytona Beach Airport or Orlando International Airport. Arrangements can be made for instructors to meet campers at Daytona Beach Airport if flight information is received at least seven days in advance. A shuttle service is available between Orlando International and DeLand and arrangements can be made through the camp office. The Stetson campus is just a few blocks from the Greyhound Station for those arriving by bus.
