Sanders averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals in two road games in her hometown of Jacksonville this past weekend. Against UNF on Saturday, Sanders hit five three-pointers and scored a team-high 23 points while also collecting seven rebounds. On Monday, the Hatter senior registered a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds in Stetson’s 72-51 win over Jacksonville. She scored her 1000th career NCAA point in the contest, while adding three steals, two assists, and one block.
For the week Sanders shot 56% from the floor (14-25) and 50% from behind the arc (6-12). She played in 72 of a possible 80 minutes, and hit 7-of-9 free throw attempts.
A Business major, Sanders ranks sixth in the conference in scoring (13.0), 11th in rebounding (6.5), and ninth in assists (2.7).
It marks the first A-Sun Player of the Week honor for Sanders, although she was named the league’s Newcomer of the Week four times last season.
