Stephanie Demake was named the assistant coach for the Stetson women's soccer program on June 27, 2013.

“Steph's incredible passion for the game, her desire to be a college coach, her dedication to wanting to improve her craft, and the style of soccer she likes to play were key factors for me in offering her the job,” Stetson head coach Manoj Khettry said on the day Demake was announced as the assistant coach. “Steph is the person that this program and I need in order to improve.”

“I am excited about the opportunity to work with Manoj and to contribute to the growing success of the women's soccer program and the university,” Demake said after being hired. “Stetson is a thriving environment both athletically and academically, and a place that is incredibly special. I am thrilled to be joining the Hatter family!”

“She has practical experience coaching in college, is familiar with the administrative tasks necessary to be successful, has a really good eye for talent, and is very personable,” Khettry went on to say about Demake. “I know our players will enjoy interacting and working with her, and I have no doubt that we have caught a rising star in the coaching ranks.

“I am so excited to be working with her, and I know that our program, our players, and I will benefit from her passion, her experience, her tireless work ethic, and her commitment to excellence. I couldn't be happier for our program, and I can't wait to have her on campus and begin working with my new colleague.”

Demake brings over five years of coaching and operational experience at both youth and collegiate levels to Stetson. Her most recent stint was as an assistant coach at Ohio University during the 2012-13 season. With the Bobcats Demake was responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of in season and out of season training sessions, as well as student-athlete recruitment and much more.

Prior to her time at Ohio, Demake was an assistant coach at Wheaton College in Massachusetts from 2010-12. With Demake on staff the Lyons advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round in both 2010 and 2011.

Demake got her start in coaching with the New England Futbol Club, helping to develop youth players aged six to 14 beginning in 2009. She worked with the club program until 2012 when she took the position at Ohio.

A graduate of Worcester State University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010, Demake was a three-year student-athlete at Worcester State. A captain as a senior, she earned MASCAC All-Conference honors twice and led the Lancers to the MASCAC Championship and the Sweet 16 of the Division III NCAA Tournament in 2007.

Demake played at the University of Hartford during her freshman campaign, helping to lead the Hawks to an America East Championship in 2006.

Demake holds both a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma from 2010, as well as an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma from 2011. She earned a Master of Science degree in coaching education at Ohio University in December of 2013.
