The second half of the Atlantic Sun Conference volleyball season begins tonight as the Stetson Hatters visit the Jacksonville Dolphins for a 7 p.m. match at Swisher Gym.
The Hatters (15-9) completed the first-half of league play with a 6-3 record and currently sit tied for fourth place in the A-Sun standings, two games back of Jacksonville (8-1) and ETSU (8-1).
"I think a lot of coaches would be happy with that record, but it is not what our goal was," Stetson head coach Tim Loesch said about the first half of league play. "We are going to have to pick it up the second half and win a couple of these close sets and close matches that we lost. Now that we have seen everybody play, we kind of know what to expect, and hopefully we can be better prepared next time we meet."
Stetson posted a dramatic dramatic 3-2 victory over Jacksonville when the teams met on Sept. 21 in DeLand. Kaley Melville led the Hatters with 17 kills and Tiffany Creamer added 14 kills. The Dolphins have not lost a game since, winning eight straight overall and seven straight in conference play.
Live video will not be available for tonight's match, but live stats will be available here. After tonight's match, the Hatters will visit Kennesaw State on Friday in a match broadcast by ESPN3, and Mercer on Saturday.
