The Stetson University women's basketball team will resume Preseason WNIT action this weekend as the Hatters play two games in two days in Nacagdoches, Tex.

On Friday, Stetson (0-1) will face regional host Stephen F. Austin (0-1) at 8 p.m.  If the Hatters win, they will play the winner of the North Carolina A&T - Georgia State contest at 7 p.m. Saturday.  A loss on Friday would place Stetson in the 5 p.m. Saturday game against the North Carolina A&T - Georgia State loser.

Fans can listen to both games live on WSBB, 1490 AM DeLand, 1230 AM New Smyrna Beach, online at, or via the free WSBB app for mobile devices.  Ryan Rouse will call the action.

The Hatters are coming off a 78-60 loss at 11th-ranked Oklahoma last Friday.  The Hatters shot just 27% from the floor and 23% from behind the arc, but converted on 18-of-21 free throw attempts (86%).

"I thought at times we executed really well and we were brilliant, and at other times we looked like we had never practiced," Stetson head coach Lynn Bria said.  "That's part of having a younger team.  We worked hard this week on execution and shot selection.  We are trying to be a better rebounding team, too."

Friday's game also begins a stretch in which the Hatters will play four games in six days.  Following this weekend's final two Preseason WNIT games, Stetson will host Indiana State at the Edmunds Center on Monday and visit Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach on Wednesday.

Junior guard Jama Sharp says the team's intense workouts during preseason helped prepare the squad for the busy upcoming stretch.

"It strengthened our mental toughness as well as our physical toughness," Sharp said about preseason training.  "We are conditioned, we are ready, we just have to go out there and prepare for each game and take it one at a time."
