After a successful weekend at home, garnering wins over ETSU and USC Upstate, the Stetson men’s basketball team returns to the road to challenge Kennesaw State on Thursday. The Hatters and the Owls are scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3.
While Stetson has enjoyed much success at home this season, compiling a 5-3 record, the Hatters are still without a road win in 2013-14. Stetson is 0-8 in true road contests and 0-3 in neutral court games away from the Edmunds Center.
Stetson moved into sixth place in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings with a 3-4 record after its 77-73 overtime-win over Upstate on Saturday. The Hatters have won two straight and will look for their first three-game winning streak of the season against the Owls.
The Hatters hold a 9-7 advantage over Kennesaw State in the all-time series, which dates back to a 73-57 Owl victory in DeLand back in 2006. Stetson has won the last four meetings between the two teams, sweeping the season series each of the last two years.
Kennesaw State welcomes Stetson to DeLand with an overall record of 4-16 and a league mark of 1-6. The Owls picked up their lone A-Sun win in a 68-58 triumph over USC Upstate at home on Jan. 6. KSU has fallen to North Florida, Jacksonville, ETSU, Mercer, Lipscomb, and Northern Kentucky along the way.
Thursday’s contest will be featured exclusively on ESPN3 with Nathan McCreary and Brian Katric on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on WSBB AM 1230, WTJV AM 1490, and online at MyAM1230.com with Robbie Aaron on the call.
Live Stats, the @StetsonMBB Twitter feed, and Hat-Alerts are also available for in-game updates on Thursday night.
