The Stetson women’s tennis team will play four matches over the course of the next week, three of which will be held at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
The Hatters will look to extend their four-match win streak on Tuesday, hosting Eastern Michigan at 2:30 p.m. EMU brings a 6-5 record into DeLand, but the Eagles are losers of three-in-a-row heading into their trip to the Sunshine State.
After their date with Eastern Michigan, the Hatters will welcome in Oakland University, Thursday, Feb. 27 at 2:30 p.m. The Bears out of Rochester, Mich. stand at 1-6 with three matches to play in Orlando before their match-up with the Hatters.
“The team has been preparing for this busy stretch of matches since our first practice in January," Stetson Director of Tennis Pierre Pilote said. "As a coaching staff, we will continue to ask our players to focus on only the next opponent and to keep our preparation consistent.”
Stetson has taken 10 out of 12 total doubles matches played during the four-match win streak and 16 of a possible 28 singles matches. It’s a streak that has featured victories over Florida A&M, Florida International, Embry-Riddle, and most recently Florida Atlantic. The Hatters’ win streak began Jan. 19 after dropping its first match of the season to No. 24 Florida State in Tallahassee.
Following their brief two-match home stand, Pilote’s squad will hit the road for a test at the College of Charleston, Saturday, March 1 at 10:00 a.m., before concluding their four-match, seven-day stretch with a home date vs. Niagara, Monday, March 3 at 11:00 a.m.
“We have to continue to look at each match as an opportunity to improve," said Pilote. "Each of the next few opponents present different challenges, so the preparation for the individual match has to be done in a purposeful way.”
Live Results will be available for all home matches. Fans can also follow @StetsonTennis on Twitter and sign up for Hat-Alerts for updates.
