DELAND, Fla. – The Stetson University softball team will take the short trip down I-4 this weekend to take part in the Holiday Inn UCF tournament. The Hatters (6-1) will play four games in two days in Orlando as they compete against Princeton, the College of Charleston, UT Martin and SIUE.

Stetson returns to the diamond after a two week layoff following its near perfect homestand, hosting the Hatter Invitational, where it defeated Elon, Campbell and Bethune-Cookman in back-to-back games.

The Hatters first take the field this weekend against Princeton, Friday at 5 p.m., inside the UCF Softball Complex. They then will play the Cougars from the College of Charleston at approximately 7 p.m. Head coach Frank Griffin’s squad continues action on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. contest against UT Martin and then wraps up the weekend with a 6 p.m. game versus SIUE.

Game times during the tournament are approximate and will start roughly 30 minutes following the completion of a prior contest. Live stats will be available for the weekend via as well as by following the Stetson softball twitter feed (@StetsonSoftball). Scores are also available by receiving updates from the Hat-Alerts text messaging system.
