The Stetson lacrosse team will continue non-conference play with two games this week. The Hatters will compete in their first true road game of the season when they play at Coastal Carolina Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., and will return home for the first of three home contests Saturday at 12:00 p.m. against Sacred Heart.
Stetson opened the season with a neutral site game at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports before returning to the Athletic Training Center for five home tilts in a row. The Hatters are still in search of their first win of 2014, holding a record of 0-6 heading into Wednesday’s challenge on the road.
Freshman Christina Loya currently leads the Hatters with five goals and two assists on the season. Sophomore Danielle Horgan and freshman Ana Baranowski have each added three goals and one assist thus far.
Coastal Carolina welcomes Stetson to town with a record of 1-2 after falling Oregon and William & Mary, and defeating the A-Sun’s Kennesaw State 19-7. The Chanticleers have been led by Sara Nolan who has racked up 10 goals in just three games in 2014.
Sacred Heart is currently 0-2, having lost on the road at Brown and at home to Yale to open the season. Before taking on the Hatters Saturday the Pioneers will play Holy Cross on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. The game will be played at Stetson’s Athletic Training Center. Through two games, four Sacred Heart players have notched two scores apiece.
