DELAND, Fla. – Fresh off its first win of the season, the Stetson University lacrosse team will look to make it two-in-a-row as its hosts Jacksonville, Saturday, Apr. 12 at 1 p.m., at the Athletic Training Center.  The Hatters (1-12, 1-0) defeated Kennesaw State 23-21 in overtime this past weekend, and will look to stay perfect in conference play against a Dolphin team that is also undefeated within the A-Sun.

JU brings a 2-0 conference mark and an 8-5 overall record into Saturday’s contest, having also beaten Kennesaw State as well as Detroit for its two conference victories. The last time these two teams hooked up was Apr. 6, 2013, when the Dolphins downed Stetson in Jacksonville during the pair’s first ever meeting.

If the past is any indication of the future, than this weekend looks to be a good one for the Hatters, as they won their second consecutive A-Sun game last season, after defeating Kennesaw State for their first. Stetson then went onto defeat Howard 18-13, the following weekend for its second and final win of the year.

A couple of Hatters will also be looking to continue their hot streaks heading into the heart of conference play, as defending A-Sun Player of the Week, Danielle Horgan scored a team high seven goals in her last game. Fellow attacker, Christina Loya netted six to give the pair a combined total of 13 in the win at KSU.

Across the field, Stetson goal keeper Caili Guilday continues to lead the nation in net minder statistics, as the sophomore is tops in total saves (149) and saves per game (11.46). She has reached double-digit save totals in 10 of her 13 games, with a season high 16, coming against Oregon, Feb. 10. Her 14 vs. the Owls last weekend was her third highest total of the season thus far.

Saturday’s game is free for fans to attend and those that can't make it out to the ATC can watch on HatterVision or follow via Live Stats on gohatters.com. The @StetsonLacrosse Twitter feed and Hat-Alerts are also available for in-game updates as well.
